No, Kramer was cool. After that Michael Richards didn't have a career, and now because of this little outburst demonstrating a lack of self control everybody recognizes him again.

Racism in celebrities is getting pretty rampant these days.

Yeah, I agree with you there, I think everyone is racist, though sometimes it is so subtle they don't even realize it.

It's not even that it's subtle it's just so prevalent that it's considered normal. When everyone is about as racist as everyone else, who's to say that it's there?

Hm, that is an interesting thought. Will have to ponder that.
But to me it seems that some of the racist comments that I hear every day at school are not really so awful as people seem to think. I mean, I hear people say "You're so Asian" or some such thing many times daily. But I don't really find a problem with that. Because how is that any different than saying: "You're such a nerd" or "You're such a goth" or "You're such a blonde" or "You're such a liberal." Race is no different from any other stereotype. None of them really have any bearing on who a person actually is, and EVERYONE gets stereotyped into something.
Once people get to know you they get past the initial stereotype. You do the same to other people, it is just how humans think. We start judging immediately and then alter our perceptions as time goes on.
What is wrong with that, really?

Well, my friends and I make racist comments I suppose, because even if the comment is a positive thing, saying "You're so Asian!" would be something based on race.

There's nothing wrong with that at all. It is how we work, just a lot of people don't have a sense of humor and can't take any jokes. Haha.

Definitely.
If you want a good read and really see where I'm coming from with the normal vs. abnormal stuff check out 1984. It's great.

Definitely. If you want a good read and really see where I'm coming from with the normal vs. abnormal stuff check out 1984. It's great. As in the George Orwell book? Read it several times, like it a lot. Animal Farm is good too. The message I got from those books is that socialism has some good points, but as great as it is in THEORY, it can never play out very well in the real world.

Read it again. Especially the part when Winston is in the Minilove and is being beaten into submission by O'brian. The question of reality and perception is presented very well.

And yes, it did bring up some issues in my mind about reality being subjective and all that. But a book that did it better in my opinion was Richard Bach's "Illusions." That is my favorite book of all time. But maybe I just need to read 1984 again..

Haha. I could see that. I really want to see the movie. However, I wish there was a newer version. I think that it would be so much better than the old one looks.

Hey...
So, Michael Richards gets own'd for CALLING a man that...
Yet, Dave Chappelle uses it all the time, usually in a more derogatory way, but HE doesn't get penalized.
