That's what the song meant.
Truth is relative, like Chinchilla said, you just proved.
Wetpaint, oh he got drafted in the military, George W. didn't like this forum so he drafted him. Right now he is disarming an IED in Mexico (in case you've been living under a rock, there is a "secret" war between the USA and Mexico).

what are YOUR views on what happens when you die, wetpaint? That question is inherently flawed. What happens after you die? Well, you are DEAD. Humans fear death, so they have a tendency of inventing lies about where they will go after they die. However, there is ABSOLUTELY NO CONCLUSIVE EVIDENCE THAT ANYTHING HAPPENS WHEN YOU DIE. YOU ARE JUST DEAD. THE END.

well do you think that it is like sleep? like, you cant think, or feel, or anything.
is it just blackness?

sleep is not "just blackness." most humans with even less than an ounce of creativity in them have dreams. and dreams are a reflection of one's thoughts....so your head is empty if you think sleep is just blackness. i am compelled to write the lyrics of the lovely Cinderella song:
♫ a dream is a wish your heart makes.... when you're fast asleep.... in dreams you loooooooose your heartaches whatever you wish for you keeeeep.... have faith in your dreams and someday.... your rainbow will come smiling through... no matter how your heart is grieving if you keep on believing the dream that you wish will come true.....♫

Agree with mauvais. Sleep is different. You have dreams, and it owns. I had a dream about battling God with mist and a chainlink fence while on a school bus last night. (It was weird. ) Death is not like sleep. Death is like death. Like NOTHING. Like GAME OVER. It is just ENDED. You don't feel anything or think anything. You are just DEAD. There is nothing to it. How hard is that concept?!

Yeah well, like you said, there is no conclusive evidence to that either so therefore it is treated as a lie, so is my view, I prefer my view though because my "lie" is WAY STINKIN' COOLER than your "lie". Oh well, hmmm, battling God with chainlink fences on a school bus, I dunno if I can top that, maybe I can do something really stinkin' weird be fore going to bed tonight, like, eating marshmellows, while practicing sword/knife play, WHILE listening to heavy metal, WHILE thinking about a crazy action movie. Yeah, that sounds like fun.

Uhm... When you are dead, every single organ in your body stops functioning in any way. Thus, there is EVERY reason to believe that you are over and you feel nothing anymore, since your brain, which lets you feel and think things, is NO LONGER TURNED ON. This makes logical sense, to think that death is THE END. Is there any actual reason to believe in Heaven, other than that the man at my church said so?

Heaven is the reason life is. If we didn't have anything to look forward to, there would be no reason to live.

Hey, let's not slam my views around too hard.
I'm not saying that your BODY still does stuuf, it's more like a spirit thing, and why not choose to believe in it, nothing disproves it, I enjoy believing in it, I figure if it's real, I'll be validated, if it's not, I won't know.

Well you two just about summed up modern religion right there. People believe it because it makes them happy to believe it, even though they know that factually there is no way it could be true.
That's fine, feel free to believe whatever you want.
But I don't choose to, because I find I can be perfectly happy believing in just the here and now, so there is no reason for me to go to all the work of being a Christian.

Heaven is the reason life is. If we didn't have anything to look forward to, there would be no reason to live. that's pessimistic. you have your entire LIFE to enjoy. you dont need a "perfect" afterlife and wouldnt heaven get boring?

being a Christian saves you work... well? what about Buddhists? or ANY religion? besides small variations in beliefs, is one different from the next? they could ALL "save you work". the majority of them offer us a good life and a better afterlife.

Hmmm, I don't understand your statement Mauvais.
As for Wetpaint, yes, it does make me happy, a lot of good things have come to me because of something to do with it (i.e.: youth group friends). And it CAN be factually true, the way you talk about a religion is a very basic and logically incorrect, so with YOUR info., it isn't possible, but with a good knowledge of religion, it can begin to make some sense, that doesn't not make it factually true, that's why it's called faith, but it does prove it possible.
But back to my original thought, if it make ya happy, go for it!

But back to my original thought, if it make ya happy, go for it! Well yes, it is fine if that makes you happy. Have fun. I just don't choose it as my path because religion is far too much work to make me happy.

Thank you, it all makes sense now *coughcough*!

The Bible talks about the “virgin birth” of Jesus Christ in Matthew 1:23-1:25, “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son. ... Joseph ... knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son.” This is all good and well, except that it defies all basic human knowledge. A virgin cannot get pregnant. This just does not happen. Rather than taking this event at face value, and using to justify the existence of a so-called “Son of God,” why not search for a simpler, and far more likely, explanation for what happened. Mary was a young woman who had recently been married to Joseph. According to Matthew 1:18, she was apparently found to be pregnant sometime after her marriage to Joseph, but before she had slept with him. In our current day and age, this is called an affair, and is frowned upon in most major societies. Joseph would probably divorce her. However, not wanting the shame of going public with Mary’s unfaithfulness, Joseph decided to “put her away privily.” (Matthew 1:19) This is where Mary got her incredible idea. According to the Bible, an angel came down and explained to Joseph how Mary was impregnated by a Holy Spirit. However why should we believe something so far-fetched when a far more reasonable solution is so obvious? Mary didn’t want the shame that would come from publicly declaring that she had had an affair. So she came up with the greatest excuse mankind has ever witnessed: “God did it.” Back in an age when miracles and spirits were still completely accepted parts of culture, she crafted a story about her child being the Son of God. She didn’t have a dirty affair with any mortal, she slept with a Holy Spirit at his request. How could anyone refuse? In our day and age, this would be scoffed at, but back then it sounded plausible. Perhaps Joseph was even in on the story, as he wouldn’t have wanted to have been shamed by an affair either. Mary and Joseph probably had no idea how far-reaching this little lie would become. They could never have imagined that this child would grow up to become the most charismatic religious leader in history. One has to wonder whether Jesus himself believed these lies about his conception, or whether he merely used them for personal gain on purpose. If the same circumstances leading up to Jesus’s birth happened again today, he would probably be aborted. This may seem like a stretch to some people. But doesn’t it seem much more logical than that some all powerful being really did come down and cause a young woman to become pregnant? I dare anyone to find any factual evidence to disprove this theory. This is SO true.
